Tarkett Hardwood Flooring
In 2007 Tarkett produced 347 million square meters of floor surfaces. Tarkett is a worldwide leader in flooring and sports surfaces serving architects, contractors, facility professionals, distributors and retailers. These floors are installed in fields ranging from housing, health, education, retail, hospitality, offices to sports. Tarkett is organized in four Divisions – Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America and FieldTurf Tarkett. The company has 9000 employees worldwide, 28 production centers with 16 of those being in Europe, and around 50 sales companies. Tarkett produces a wide range of sustainable floors in different materials. Such materials range from vinyl, linoleum, rubber, laminate, wood, artificial turf to other sports surfaces. Since 2003, the company has operated under the Tarkett brand name. Tarkett products are known for their consistently superior quality, ease of installation and durability. The company’s history includes the following brand names, which as previously stated are now rolled into one: Azrock, Domco, Harris Tarkett, Sintelon, Sommer, Marley, FieldTurf and Johnsonite.
Because Tarkett has such conviction in its products, all are covered by extensive warranties against manufacturing defects. One of the reasons they can have such conviction is because of their unique FiberFloor Protection System, which is composed of five everyday-life-resistant layers. The first is a finish layer, which protects against scratches, scuffs and stains. The second is a wear layer, which prevents wear, rips, tears, gouges and indentations. The third is a foam layer, which adds cushion and additional indentation protection, creating warmth and comfort underfoot. The fourth is an engineered fiberglass inner layer, which utilizes woven fibers so it lays flat and won’t expand or contract for increased stability. And lastly, the fifth is a backing layer, which allows high flexibility, easy installation and a moisture-and sound-resistant barrier for added performance.
