Somerset Hardwood Flooring
Somerset is a privately owned company with over 20 years of growth in the hardwood industry. They are experts in the wood business, having manufacturing Appalachian lumber and unfinished flooring for many years prior to manufacturing prefinished flooring. The company has multiple manufacturing facilities in Somerset, Burnside and Munfordville, Kentucky. To achieve the uncompromising high quality standards that are mandatory, Somerset Flooring invests in the most modern manufacturing equipment, paved lumber yards, computer-controlled dry kilns, state-of-the-art finishing line, and dedicated employees. Their dedicated employees process millions of board feet of lumber a year. The company maintains control over the entire process. This is one important reason they consistently produce quality products. In addition, as people become more aware of environmental impacts, Somerset is ready to take the spotlight as a responsible steward to the environment. Somerset Hardwood Flooring is an environmentally sound choice because trees are a renewable resource. They support the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, requiring them to be responsible stewards of the land by meeting independently established and monitored objectives on an ongoing basis. Somerset is one of only a few manufacturers to have a full time forestry staff.
Whatever your tastes, whatever your space, Somerset has the floor for you. Somerset is proud to offer an extensive and diverse selection of hardwood flooring options, all designed to make your home more beautiful and enjoyable. Every floor is crafted for a lifetime of satisfaction and enjoyment. Somerset solid hardwood flooring is a single piece of solid wood that is crafted into a strip or plank flooring through an advanced milling and finishing process. Somerset's engineered hardwood flooring has a solid top layer, or face, supported by six additional layers that are cross-grained and laminated together to form a 1/2" thick piece of plank flooring. The main considerations for choosing solid or engineered flooring have to do with where and how the flooring will be installed. Both are excellent choices to install on or above grade (ground level), depending on the type of subfloor.
