Anderson Hardwood Flooring dates back to 1946, at which point, the family company was born and a precedent of offering only the highest quality designs and innovations was established. This company has greatly contributed to the revitalization of the American home as a place where families celebrate the essence of what a home truly is and the positivism that can radiate from a space. Four generations ago, the family company was founded by L.W. "Andy" Anderson. His son, Robert W. Anderson, became a contributing member of the company in 1950 and served as president until 1988. In 1988, his son-in-law, Donald Finkell, took the lead as president, a title that he has retained ever since. While Robert is no longer alive to play a part for the family company, Robert's widow and their four daughters serve actively on the board. LW's great-grandchildren are now even involved in the company where they hold positions ranging from plant management to marketing.

Anderson Hardwood Flooring spans numerous species making it a company that suits nearly all consumer needs. Products include species such as oak, pine and pecan, and even more exotic species like bamboo. One of the iconic features of Anderson Hardwood Flooring, in addition to being a true American Family Company, is that most of Anderson's flooring collections are hand-scraped. This method of finishing results in an antique look, which is very complementary to many styles of interior decorating.
