Appalachian Flooring ltd. is a relatively young company in the world of flooring, having only begun operations in 2001. It did so with the opening of a flooring plant in Cowansville, Québec. In 2004, the company was already flourishing, perhaps having been given a little nudge by the once booming residential homes market. As a result, the original plant was expanded with the opening of an onsite prefinishing plant. In 2006, Appalachian Flooring launched a new finishing technique called Evershine. By 2007, the company was ready to expand again, this time focused on expanding the state-of-the-art kilns portion of the business. As a result of the expansions and organic growth, Appalachian Flooring is able to minimize transportation costs while also gaining greater control over the quality of its products by being more involved with the manufacturing from beginning to end. For those consumers looking to take a closer look at Appalachian Flooring’s products, they are making a handful of appearance at various shows around the country. The first show of the season has passed; however, the Surfaces conference at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas would have been an ideal time to scope the new product lines. For reference, the Surfaces 2009 show took place in the early part of February should you want to try and catch it in 2010. Also having passed was the National Home Show which took place at the Direct Energy Center in Toronto at the end of February. Nevertheless, there are additional shows scheduled to take place throughout the remainder of the year for which Appalachian Flooring’s web page is a great resource for where to find them in the months to come.
